Central Wyoming College Presents: Leading in Times of Crisis – A Teton Talk with Dr. Thom Mayer

JACKSON, Wyo. – Central Wyoming College, in partnership with the Teton Leadership Center, will host Leading in Times of Crisis: A Teton Talk with Thom Mayer, MD, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Teton County Library Ordway Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Mayer, a Wilson resident and internationally recognized emergency physician, has led through some of the most significant crises of the last 25 years. His leadership experience includes serving as Command Physician at the Pentagon rescue and recovery operation on Sept. 11, 2001; Incident Commander during the anthrax outbreak in Washington, D.C.; and leading a Team Rubicon mobile emergency team in Ukraine following the outbreak of war.
Currently the Medical Director for the NFL Players Association, Mayer is widely regarded as a top authority on leadership under pressure. USA Today named him one of the “100 Most Important People in the NFL.”
Unlike many leadership theorists, Mayer has lived leadership in the most demanding circumstances. His talk will weave together practical lessons and stories from his career, inspiring audiences to lead with integrity during moments of uncertainty.
“We’re excited to introduce the community to this extraordinary leader and storyteller,” said Sue Muncaster, executive director of the Teton Leadership Center. “As we navigate these difficult times, we can all use inspiration to ignite the best in ourselves and inspire collective action.”
The free event is open to the public, with light refreshments provided.
